Baker Street: more than a home for Holmes
Baker Street was the first permanent exhibition site of Madame Tussauds Waxworks, which opened on Baker Street in 1835, moving around the corner.
Perhaps because of its strong association with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s eccentric sleuth, the area is often overlooked as a cultural and historic backdrop for visitors to London, so there is plenty of opportunity to explore, without the accompanying crowds.
